 Sanctuary Women’s Development Center serves homeless and at-risk women and children in the Oklahoma City metro area. The center provides dignity-affirming services such as access to showers, laundry facilities, a computer lab, case management and other resources to help them find sustainability.
 
The growing  growing number of women and children experiencing homelessness in Oklahoma City continues to rise. Through your prayers, donations, pledges and volunteer work for this mission we are able to continue serving those in the margins in Oklahoma.

Capital Campaign

Under the proposed plan, the current site would be revitalized and rebuilt with the former Sanctuary bell tower still present.

The new plan would provide a larger lobby area for clients, which would also provide more space for offices, classrooms, etc.

THE NEW FACILITY

Over the past 13 years, the Sanctuary Women’s Development Center has led women and children to safety. 
Careful consideration was made to determine whether it was best to continue in the current facility and proceed with the many repairs needed, or to rebuild in ways that would not only expand services of Sanctuary but also make the environment more conducive to women who are experiencing trauma. Research suggests that when trauma is treated with support services, healing and long-term recovering is possible. 
A feasibility student by Greater Mission concluded the capital campaign would be an obtainable and sufficient means to continue providing a place of safety, shelter and support for our clients. The Catholic Charities Board of Directors voted unanimously to proceed with the campaign.
Sanctuary helps lead the way to a future where home is a place of safety, shelter and support. Our promise  is to guarantee these services continue for as long as they are needed and to give them a start at a better life.
